Smithsonian Global Volcanism Program data for Quaternary (Holocene and Pleistocene) volcanoes are available as a Google Earth layer, including a photo (when available), various information and summary descriptions, and links to volcano profile pages. The Google Earth software must be downloaded and installed to use the Network Link files that will update automatically when the database is updated online. The Placemarks File needs to be updated manually from this page, but can be saved by users to load into the web-based Google Earth using the "Open local KML file" option.
